Bieszczady is a remote mountain range in southeastern Poland, famous for its wild beech forests, reintroduced European bison, and the Bieszczady Loop narrow-gauge railway. Winters are cold at around 25°F (-4°C), perfect for cross-country skiing on the slopes near Ustrzyki Górne, while summers are mild at 68°F (20°C), ideal for hiking to Tarnica peak for views of the Poloniny meadows. In spring, you can spot blooming crocuses, and in autumn, the foliage draws photographers to the village of Wetlina.
